Here’s the full version of our December newsletter
Well here we are at the end of yet another year. Many of you may have accomplished great things this year and we couldn’t be happier for you. Many of us have perhaps simply accomplished the mammoth task of just surviving the year, and to those I say a hearty Well Done! Your accomplishments, no matter what they may be, are worth celebrating, so congratulations to us all!
TV CHANNELS MOVING TO HD.
WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU:
Some of you may have experienced a few issues with channel 8 recently (local Channel 9). This is because the format of the broadcast of the Nine network has changed. You may find some of these channels have sound but no picture, or the TV says invalid format. Rest assured, there is nothing wrong with your TV antenna but you may need to upgrade your TV or solve the problem with a cost effective Set Top Box if a new TV is outside of the budget right now.
WiFi – WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU:
We all now rely heavily on WiFi in the home, from the kids school projects to streaming your favourite shows, it’s important that your service works in every area of the house. We regularly install WiFi access points in peoples homes to boost the signal from the modem to the outer areas of the house. If you are having issues connecting to the internet in any areas of your house we can help. Give our office a call on 54791999 to book a Technician to come out for a consultation.
SUMMER STORMS:
We have had some really interesting weather in the past few weeks with plenty of lightening and thunder but not a lot of rain. Martin calls this a “Hollywood Blockbuster” storm – lots of special effects but no substance! While it might look to be a mild storm season, that may not be the case. Now I’m no Meteorologists but I’ve lived here long enough to know we never truly escape storm season. It’s important to make sure you are checking your home and making sure that you are storm ready. That includes jumping on the roof and making sure your antenna is secure and nothing is loose.
As always were are here to help with all matters related to your antenna. So if getting on the roof is not something that is something you want to do or if you have any concerns at all about the condition of your antenna system, give us a call on 54791999 and book a time for one of our Technicians to do a health check of your system.
GRANDKIDS VISITING?
Christmas is the time for family visits and Grandkid sleep overs. Every year we get calls asking us to help customers get their TV’s working again after the grandkids have plugged in their new Playstation’s or hooked up their Chromecast and now they can’t get Free-to-Air anymore. Most of the time this is because there was a HDMI connection being used that got unplugged because there was no free ports for the extra equipment, the cable was bumped or the power supply was unplugged to make way for the power cable of that extra piece of equipment.
One of the easiest ways to avoid this is label the cables in the back of the TV so you know which is which and therefore which has been unplugged and not returned to it’s rightful place. If you are unsure we are more than happy to help. Our Tech’s can use their label machine to put the name of each device on the appropriate cables so that when the kids have gone home, you can easily see what is out of place and get your TV back up and running just the way you like it.
